BLEND AND ORIGIN
2015 was an atypical and bewildering year with sudden shifts, the most intense heat and sunlight in 45 years led to drought, which was alleviated by late August rains just before harvest.
Since the pivotal year of 2003, Dom Pérignon has embraced a bolder approach with extreme vintages like 2015. Harvesting for Dom Pérignon began September 7th, shortly after Champagne's first. The vintage boasts ideal Pinot Noirs—fruity, robust, yet delicate—and selectively picked Chardonnays due to drought-induced irregularities.
The year 2015 mirrors 2003's early ripeness and sun-drenched quality but also brings the structured firmness reminiscent of 2005 and the breadth of 2010. It also hints at the dry trend continuing into 2022.
